Welcome to Infinergy’s website for Shepherds’ Rig, Stroanshalloch and Marnhoul Wind Farms in Dumfries and Galloway
Scotland leads the way on harnessing renewable energy sources. However, the set target of 100% of electricity from renewables by 2020 cannot be met without further development. Ways to ensure the landscape can accommodate this are carefully chosen sites and sensitively designed developments.
As part of these goals, Infinergy is investigating three potential wind farm sites in Dumfries and Galloway. The sites are all relatively close to each other and will include one potential Section 36 and two major development applications to Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Shepherds’ Rig Wind Farm near Carsphairn has the potential for up to 45 turbines whilst Stroanshalloch Wind Farm near Moniaive and Marnhoul Wind Farm near Corsock both have potential for around 16 turbines each. Following the Scottish Government target for community ownership of renewable energy projects, Infinergy has started investigating opportunities for community investment and co-ownership in these three wind farms.
We are keen to work with the local community. This website aims to share information about the projects throughout their development and to invite members of the community to get in touch. We would be delighted to hear from you and value your opinion.
